The Atlanta Braves Experience

I LOVE baseball games! They are just the most fun way to spend time in the summer! The Atlanta Braves have always been my favorite baseball team and it has been so fun to pass that love down to my little guy! This past weekend we spent the weekend in Atlanta with my whole family. We came down to watch a game, but quickly realized that thanks to a perfectly located hotel and The Battery Atlanta, it is a complete Atlanta Braves Experience! Here are some ways to have the most fun!

Battery Atlanta Braves

Book a Hotel in Walking Distance

There is so much to do at the Battery! You will want to spend time there and you will not want to drive and pay to park! We stayed at the Hampton Inn Atlanta Galleria. It was a great option for kids! It has a free breakfast, an indoor pool and is within walking distance to The Battery and SunTrust Park. Another option was the DoubleTree Suites. It is equally as close and has an outdoor pool. The closest hotel is the Omni at The Battery Atlanta. It’s so close you could possibly watch the baseball game from your room!

Go On A Game Night Without Tickets

The Battery Atlanta has so much to do for families on game nights (or days)! Yes, it gets crowded before the games so be warned, BUT there is also a ton going on! My son and niece were enthralled with the men and women on stilts, the street dancers, the human statue, the jugglers and Blooper riding around. We also experienced a drum concert, a DJ and so much more! Once the game starts hang out on the Georgia Power Pavilion, just outside the Chop House gate. It is a large artificial turf area that is an excellent spot for a picnic, a whiffle ball game, tag or bubbles. It has a large screen showing the game, so you don’t have to miss it, and you can hear the Tomahawk Chop and see the fireworks!

If you hope to eat in a restaurant at The Battery Atlanta before or after an Atlanta Braves game, expect to wait. There is a huge selection of restaurants. We tried El Felix and Punch Bowl Social. I had hoped to try Wahlburgers, because of my love for the Wahlburg boys, but it didn’t happen on this trip. The restaurants fill up quickly and most of them don’t take reservations. My suggestion would be arrive early (before everyone is starving), put your name on the list, and then explore! The restaurants do clear out quickly after the game starts. PSA….if you like beer or a margarita, buy them from the stands on the streets. They are so much cheaper! However, you can’t take the drinks in some of the restaurants so don’t expect to drink them with your meal.

Take Me Out to the Ball Game…….

Definitely do not miss actually going to an Atlanta Braves game! The stadium is amazing! There is a fun place for the kids called the SandLot full of games, a rock climbing wall and even an zip-line. On Sunday the games are free. They cost $1.00 per game any other time. There is a HUGE selection of food, including Chick-Fil-A! There is not a bad seat in the house at SunTrust Park. AND the best part was there was space at the seats for our kids to wiggle and not annoy the people beside of us!

I was also pleasantly surprised with food prices! Alcohol and drinks were expensive, but hot dogs were $3.00 and a regular popcorn was just $3.00. PLUS, you can bring in your own food as long as it’s in a clear plastic bag! I thought that was a nice bonus!

We had the most fun staying and exploring in The Battery Atlanta! It had so much to offer the whole family! So much fun in fact, my son wants to go back for his birthday! I highly recommend taking a weekend trip to Atlanta during baseball season!

I would love to hear from you!
