How to Plan a Fall Break Trip

Fall break is a great time for a family to hit the road! Typically beaches are still somewhat warm, the temperature is perfect at theme parks and the mountains are full of glorious Autumn color! So how to do you choose where to go and how do you plan a fall break trip??

1. Basic Questions for Fall Break Planning

The first thing to do is ask yourself (or your family) some basic questions….How far do you want to travel? How long do you want to be gone? What is your budget?

2. What Does Your Family Enjoy

Next, you want to determine what type of vacation your family enjoys. This is important when you plan your Fall Break trip. Are you an on the go family? Do you need lots of action? Or do you want a relaxing vacation where everything is slow and easily accessibly?

The Smoky Mountains are beautiful in the Fall.

3. How Do You Want to Travel

Lastly, you need to decide how you plan to get to your destination and what kind of accommodations are best suited for your family. When planning your Fall Break trip ask yourself….are you hoping to drive or fly? Do you prefer a hotel room, a resort feel, or something rented such as a condo, cabin, or house?

I know, I know….this seems like ALOT to think about! But once you get your answers, picking a place to go becomes SO much easier! It will narrow down just where you family will have the most fun for Fall Break!

A Few Great Options for Plnning a Fall Break Trip

Some great options for the adventure seeking family would be Universal Orlando, Disney World Resort or Sea World and Discovery Cove. If adventure is your thing but not with the crowds, head to the Smoky Mountains or another national park and adventure in nature! If driving to a beach is the best option for your family, some great beaches can be found up and down the East Coast. We love Fripp Island, Hilton Head and Myrtle Beach just to name a few. And then if you are looking for the ultimate adventure and relaxation combo head on to an All-Inclusive resort in Mexico! Spend your days by the pool OR take a tour of some local cenote’s and experience a new culture.

Universal Orlando is a popular Fall Break destination!
