We have had some glorious peeks at Spring this week and I am LOVING it! I love the outdoors but sometimes I have to be very intentional about going outside. It gets hard when I have to be on the computer for work and my chores are basically indoors. I also am always cold and if it’s under about 70 degrees I have a hard time motivating myself to be outdoors! But this week I made myself take some walks and it has been like balm to the soul! There is so much truth that sunlight helps improve mood. That vitamin D is crucial for me! So bring on Spring and all of its glorious warmth and sunlight!
This past weekend was Easter. Easter is one of my favorite holidays as we celebrate a risen Savior. Easter morning we had TJ, our son, along with my grandbabies (I have older step-daughters). At ages 6 and 2, TJ and Addie had so much fun waking up to see what the Easter Bunny had brought and then getting dressed up for church! We spent time on Saturday and Sunday with both sets of grandparents and had an amazing church service. It was as really great weekend!
One thing I have always loved about running or taking walks is listening to Podcasts. My all time favorite is The Happy Hour by Jamie Ivey! The host says her goal is like you are listening to a happy hour between friends and it is just that! She always has amazing, strong, and go-getting women of Christ and I always finish an episode inspired. Some of my other favorite Podcasts are That Sounds Fun with Annie Downs, Going Scared Podcast, Simply Life on Purpose Podcast, The Next Right Thing with Emily P. Freeman and Mom Struggling Well.
Next up, I have two favorite songs that I can’t stop listening too. The first one is Kings and Queens by Mat Kearney. We saw Mat in concert a couple of weeks ago and he is amazing! This song has me dancing all over the kitchen! It’s also a fun love song that reminds me of my relationship with my husband. The second song is Reckless Love by Cory Asbury. It’s just WOW! He sings great truth about God’s love for us. It’s a beautiful song!
My last favorite thing is this shirt I saw on Instagram! I don’t know if your kids are like this, but when TJ knows something exciting is coming he cannot contain himself! And Saturday, before all of the company was coming and the fun stuff was starting, he was WILD!! And I was feeling like the crazy chicken from Moana! Can you relate??
What are you plans for the weekend? The weather here is supposed to be cold and rainy so we will stay in. BUT, it is our 11th wedding anniversary so we plan to head out for a nice meal on Sunday afternoon!
TGIF!!
