We are all LEGO’s all the time over here in our house! My son is wild about them! So of course a trip to LEGOLAND Florida was a no brainer during our Fall Break Florida road trip. LEGOLAND is about 45 minutes south of Walt Disney World and is an easy day trip if you are staying on the Walt Disney World property. However, I am here to tell you that you will want to spend a night or 2 at LEGOLAND Hotel! It was a highlight of our trip. I’m and going to tell you my top 10 reasons you need to stay at LEGOLAND Hotel in Florida!
1. LEGO Decor Everywhere!
From the moment you pull up to Legoland Hotel Florida, you are met with bright and colorful LEGO decor. Upon arrival, visitors are greeted with LEGO guards and a LEGO Dragon. Once inside there are LEGO models to look at along with places to build. When making the reservation, guests can choose between 4 different themes, pirates, adventure, kingdom or LEGO friends. Each room comes in standard, premium, or VIP suite. Each level has a little more decor, more LEGO models and the suites offer more space and a balcony.
We booked a standard room and were amazed with the level of decor. TJ chose a pirate themed room. The door to the room was decorated to look like a pirate looking through a wooden door. The bedspreads, shower curtain, and carpet were pirate themed and there were several LEGO models throughout the room. The children’s alcove was heavily themed with the walls covered in wallpaper that looked like the inside of a pirate ship
Even the restaurants and outside area were heavily LEGO themed. They really left no stone unturned in the decor department!
2. Family Friendly and Child Friendly Rooms
LEGOLAND Hotel rooms were designed with families in mind. The rooms are spacious and the king sized bed area and the children’s nook are separated by a good size bathroom. Both the adult area and the children’s area had their own TV. In the children’s area was a set of bunk beds with a trundle bed, so the rooms can comfortably hold 5. There is also very good storage in each room with closet space, shelves, drawers and a desk.
The rooms were so child friendly. I was amazed with the attention to detail. The doors had an adult size peephole and a child sized peephole. In the bathrooms the toilets had a child size toilet seat attachment so that little bums wouldn’t fall in. In the shower/bathtub combo the shower head detached to make washing small children much easier.
3. FREE LEGO’s
Of course, this was my son’s favorite! As soon as we walked in the door my son found a locked treasure chest and some clues to work through. It took about 10 minutes before he was able to get the combination to open the treasure chest. Inside was a LEGO kit, a magazine, some juice and some other fun LEGOLAND swag!
The next night, after arriving home from LEGOLAND, TJ found another brand new pack of LEGO’s on his pillow. He could not have been more excited!
4. Master Model Builder Workshop
Did you know that people have actual jobs building and repairing LEGO models? The Master Model Builder Workshop is led by these people and is only offered to hotel guests. Space is very limited. It is offered several times an afternoon so sign up as soon as you check in! TJ was so excited about it we actually left the park early. The class is led by a Master Model Builder and he takes the children step by step through building a model they can take home with them. He then takes questions about his job and other LEGO related questions.
5. Tons of Entertainment
Entertainment starts bright and early with character dining at breakfast in Bricks Family Restaurant. It then starts back at 4:55 to open the Bricks Family Restaurant. Entertainment continues with LEGO Master Games, LEGO Build Competitions, LEGO Character Meet and Greet and then ends with the Kids Pajama Dance Party. It’s madness and so much fun!!
6. Great Food Options
Included in your hotel reservation is free breakfast at Bricks Family Restaurant! It’s a buffet and includes anything and everything your family might want for breakfast! It even has an omelet station and they made me gluten free pancakes. We ate so much we were able to skip lunch in the park. For supper, Bricks Family Restaurant opens again with a buffet. An option for lunch or dinner, an appetizer or just an adult beverage is Skyline Lounge. This is located in the lobby and has a good selection of meals along with a kids menu.
7. Dance Party on the Elevator
I was totally unprepared for this! As soon as the elevator doors close the music starts playing and the disco ball starts turning! It was hysterical to see the kids start to bust a move!
8. Very Cool Pool Area
We didn’t get a chance to swim but we totally checked it out! It looked like a great place to cool off after a day in the park! The pool is heated, zero-entry and there are soft bricks to build with while you swim! There is also a beautiful boardwalk to explore while you are outside!
9. Walk to LEGOLAND
LEGOLAND hotel parking is free when you are a guest. So you will never have to move your car. LEGOLAND is right beside the hotel and is a very short walk! They boast it’s just 130 steps! This makes it very easy to go back and forth and you don’t have to worry about parking!
10. It’s Just Fun
The mood inside LEGOLAND hotel is just plain fun. The energy is high! It is bright and colorful and caters to kids! There are building areas and climbing areas in the lobby, the staff is fun, the elevator is fun, the restaurants are fun, the rooms are fun, the pool is fun. We truly just had the very best time! You and your child will love every minute spent at this resort!
I hope I have convinced you to spend at least one night at LEGOLAND hotel! It will add so much fun to your LEGOLAND trip and I promise your children will leave exhausted!
